On our trip back to Kelowna from Salmon Arm, we saw a sign saying “Dave’s Goat Walk” – who could pass up a roadside experience like that? Not us. So we pulled into the Log Barn at Armstrong. There are barely words to describe this weird, wacky and wondrous attraction.
The goat walk was entertaining – the goats stroll along on an overhead walkway, looking down on the spectators. The walkway has two corn wheels – bicycle tires attached to pulleys. Tourists on the ground level put corn into tin cans attached to ropes. When the goats hear the tin cans rattling, they use their hooves to spin the bike wheels, raising the food cans up to the walkway – where the goats are rewarded with their corn treat. They then continue to spin the wheels to lower the cans.
The Log Cabin is a collaboration of crazy artifacts. From dinosaurs on the front lawn, to the giraffe out back – there was a lot to explore. Definitely a Must See!
